I can say with integrity that Terry Heislen is the most talented, competent
musician that I have been privileged to work with in more than forty years of
ministry…I have worked with many ministers and directors of music. None have the
smooth, easy style…and none have been more skilled at the task of musical
development and direction as he.
--Dr. Don F. Renshaw, Church Development and Finance Associates, Mc Kinney, TX

Terry Heislen has been an immense help both in enabling us to reflect upon our
worship service and in getting our music program up and running. The feedback
we received was not only helpful, but given with such a graceful, loving spirit
that we were able to accept critique on the places where we needed improvement,
but also to celebrate what we were doing well. Terry understands the issues for
small churches such as ours, and helped us understand how to more effectively
express our own identity and mission.
--Dr. Martha Myre, Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Aubrey, TX

With his engaging style and well-developed theology of music ministry, Terry was
able to draw the best from our choir and musicians. His varied background
equips him well to work with all kinds of people and many styles of music, and
he was able to adapt well to and enhance our music and worship. I highly
recommend Terry to any church wishing to develop both the scope and the depth of
its music and worship ministry.
--Benjamin A Kolodziej, Organist and Director of Music, Lord of Life Lutheran
Church, Plano, TX

This ministry has helped us to use the talents and gifts of the congregation.
After we implemented some of the changes Terry suggested, we had 3 people
volunteer to lead congregational singing at our “traditional” service and
another guitarist joined the “contemporary” band. Two high school students lend
their gifts with clarinet and oboe. The chapel has a new amplification system
with CD capability. Terry was a key force in helping the chapel move this
direction.
--Rev. Joe Zinser, Chinn’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Copper Canyon, TX

Terry Heislen brings together liturgical understanding, pastoral sensitivity and
artistic creativity in his leadership of worship. He is one of the most flexible
musicians I know with the ability and background to lead in a variety of worship
formats and musical styles. Terry's knowledge of sound systems is invaluable
because he strives to maintain a balance between electronically enhanced sound
and acoustical authenticity. He moves fluidly between the choir and the
congregation, getting the best out of both.
